How to register to use Veggie Oil
« on: March 16, 2006, 10:24:30 AM »

First you need to register your premises you do this on a form (EX 103) you can either ring HM revenue and customs on  0191 2011768
or use there web site www.hmrc.gov.uk

The form is very straightforward you need to fill in your full name and address and that you will be using straight veggie oil and that you will be storing it in jerry can (duty is payable before you can use it)

They will then send you a letter with a booklet 179E explaining laws and rates of duty - the most important part to you will be the rate of duty it is £0.4710 per litre unless you are producing biodiesel using the transesterification process in which case you can pay the lower rate £0.2710

You will need to send them a letter back explaining you will be using vegetable oil from a supermarket - how much you expect to use - I told them it will vary in winter and summer and also the vehicle is not used that often as it is a second car - and they will need a telephone number (they can and will call you to see if you know what records you are keeping and for how long)

This letter must be returned within 10 days or they will assume you no longer wish to proceed

You will then received a letter confirming that you are regarded as a producer of fuel substitues and additives/extenders

it will show a unique reference number which you need to put on your HO 930 returns

HO 930

These need to be sent in before the 15th day of the following months

you will need to put in how many litres you have purchased that month and calculate the duty payable a 0.4710 per litre - if you have not used any you need to send the form back filled in with a zero

You need to keep your veggie oil receipts for 6 years - i find it best to attached each months to a piece of A4 paper and putting the chequed number and amount of duty paid on it to.

Once duty has been paid you are free to use it in your tank as required

so next we try "Hydrogen power".... i read up on this when the father-in-law + i found an article on the interweb going into very great detail how to convert your petrol powered car to run on hydrogen....... very basically, u put water in the cars "petrol" tank, its fed as required into a small tank where an electrical current is passed thro very precisely measured coils of wire containing an electrical charge which separates the water (H20) into oxygen, which is the only thing to come out of the exhaust, and hydrogen which is injected into the engine as a direct replacement for petrol with no loss of power or any need for petrol as a start up fuel.......... Shocked imagine - you go into sainsburys for fuel - its saturday - every pumps full - and 3 cars waiting behind each queue - but you ignore the pumps and fill up at the washer bottle filler!!!!!!! - then drive off without having to stand in the queue to pay for 10 mins while some div trys to find their reward card!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
unfrotunatley, not only did someone misteriously poison the guy who came up with it + subsequent users have been "approached" by big men in dark glasses advising them that if they want to see their grandkids grow up they better stoppit, (think of the loss of revenue for the likes of b.p.)  but i`ve also just found out that my water bill is going up by 4.5% this year, which makes me wonder if i`ll be any better off! also in theory because your using water as a fuel you would have to register that with the revenue + pay tax on it at the same level as veg oil or the heating/engine oil mix (although i`m not entirely sure that last one is legal even then?!?!?!?!??!?!) Angry Angry Angry Angry
