air filter
« on: February 09, 2008, 12:22:10 PM »

just been checking a few things out on the truck while the sun is out. noticed my air filter was in need of a change.

while i was at it, i decided to stick a pipercross induction kit in, that i had spare.

its the first time i have actually heard the turbo spool up since i stuck it on!

i left the airbox on, to give it a few sources of air etc, and to stick it back to standard, its a case of a jubilee clip, pop it of, old one back in the box and pop the lid back on. perfect for when im off roading.

I had a toyota supra induction cone on mine for a few months before I got the snorkel - made a big diff to the turbo spooling.
- its sat in the garage complete with adaptor ring if someone wants to make me an offer for it.

Im using the unifilter insert inside the standard airbox at the moment and it seems to work well too - although its a messy bugger to deal with due to it needing oiled regularly.

cheers

Only trouble is it will be pulling in warm air from the engine so surley it wont be as efficient. Thats why they have an inter cooler isnt it

Theres the wing/front intake and to be honest its not the hottest of engine bays - I never had any issues at all
