Hi all
Having great fun with my local Mitsi dealer, trying to get new leaf spring bushings. I think some of the trouble is because different people have different names for the bits of hardware that make up a leaf spring suspension. The dealer supplied 10 rubber bushings and claimed that was a full kit of spring, shackle and chassis bushes. This seemed to tally with the line drawing in the Haynes book. However, when I went to fit them, I discovered I hadn't enough of the correct bits to complete one side, let alone both. On my Shogun the bushing at the front of the spring, where it meets the chassis, is a larger diameter than that at the rear where it meets what I call a shackle. The dealer says it's not! His computer says both ends of the spring take the same bushings. Now he's inclined to take the view that, being a Shogun and not a Pajero, it's an import and his records may be incorrect. Not that that gets me any further! Does anyone know the correct part no. for the Leaf Spring/Chassis bushing on a 1989 LWB 2.5Td Shogun? Have to show the finished job to the NCT man soon! Fed-up!
