Remote Central Locking Install
« on: April 20, 2008, 10:02:44 PM »

Well folks i got around to fitting the Remote Central Locking kit i got from DIYGTI earlier, fitting wasnt to difficult and took me a couple of hours, best part was that i used only one of the four actuators supplied so i got three spares!!!!

started off stripping the door panel off and taking off the plastic covering over the door, when this was off began the process of looking where to mount the new actuator so that instead of using four new actuators i could utilise the existing Mitsi ones, after a while i found that there wasnt many places to mount the new one so i decided to mount it in the large gap near the door lock just above the exising one!!

with the placing of the actuator sorted, i measured and cut the new rod to size, so that it didnt catch when the doors were unlocked!!!!

With that done it was time to run the wiring...there is no positive connections in the door so i took it straight off the ignition, making sure i soldered the wires and then insulating afterwards....

With the wiring done it was time to connect everything up!!!

with the wiring connected, it was time to connect the new rods to the existing ones, and making sure they didnt obstruct the existing ones!!

final adjustments had to be made on the clamp to make sure everything stayed straight and true

now thats all i had to do was put the car back together!!!!!

all working great, have tried it from about 50yds and no probs, opens all the doors no probs!!!!

all in all a worthwhile investment i think!!!!!
