Common complaints - J-top Gearbox?

I have a problem with my gearbox, namely engaging 4th.
It's no big deal, but until I was used to it, it kept popping out of 4th.
Also, 5th gear seems to be a bit of a battle to engage !

Someone was selling a J-top on Ebay last week, and it was sold with a faulty gearbox, namely engaging 2nd and 4th.


Anyone shine a  light on why this is happening?
