have bought a L reg 28 pajero put in engine runs great, but the speed is in km. bought clocks with mph but its not reading right. does the the clock need to be chipped or do you have to change the drive in the transmission. any help would be much appreciated thanks

You can just change the card on the clock face
We sell white and silver dial kits in the club shop and I thnk Milner Off Road sell the original black style just for the speedo

only on a 2.5 i think tim,dont u need a convertor for a 2.8

standard tyre sizes on the 2.8 include 31/10.50/15 so anything above that size is going to effect the speedo in some way . mine had a lable inside the drivers door stating the tyre pressures and sizes and did include the above size tyre as a standard equivalent  |

thats ok though mate as the law states there is a 10% leway either way for inaccuracy of your clocks. best way for peeps to check is by using a satnav with the speedo built in or one of the radar speed detectors and you will see how far out the clocks are |

tyres are standard 15 inch. put sat nav in, sat nav reading about 28mph gauge reading 40mph. refitted old gauge for now. away for weekend. will call in Bishop's Swansea, see what he says. thanks for all your help keep the suggestion's coming and i should get it fixed

Don't think that'll work. May be ok for speed, but miles will still rack up too fast and it won't be obvious why, if the speedo face shows mph as the main scale!You need to change the way the odometer interprets the distance covered. I thought simply replacing the instrument with one calibrated in the correct units would solve the problem, but this thread seems to indicate otherwise! Sounds like a trip to the calibrators is unavoidable, doesn't it? I have the opposite problem, miles having been consigned to the history books over here, but my Shogun still showing miles on it's odometer. I was hoping to just fit a speedo from a Pajero, but it seems that won't work! Another item to add to my list of components required to carry out my manual conversion, perhaps? sparks |

theres a speedo convertor for a 2.8 that fits onto the box where the speedo goes in
