The abs light has come on on the dash of my 3.5 lwb 1994 shogun. Had it diagnosed today and it came up with three fault codes which were 1) r/f solenoid and circuit 2)l/f solenoid and circuit 3)r/r solenoid and circuit. All 4 sensors were showing correct readings on a road test all 4 were showing the exact same mph reading,no difference between them at all. Anybody got any ideas as to where i start looking, the sensors on the hubs, wiring or just take the bulb out of the dash

check that the notches round the cv joint aint filled with crud as the notches are there to send electromagnetic pulses to the abs brain . have you tried disconnecting battery to reboot ecu.

Hi there, you can check the sensors with an analog meter, the rear conections are on the nsr chassis, the nsf is under the bonett by the rad bottle, the osf is under osf chassis, if you conect the meter (on ohms) to the 2 wires on the sensor, turn the wheel slowly and you should see it pulsing if ok,then put one lead on the sensor body and the other across both wires it should be open circuit, if not its probably metal dust on the magnetic tip and earthing out,so they need a good clean. hope it helps Will

I'd just take out the ABS unit and leave it with conventional brakes. My mate had that done on his Landie when his ABS unit went and it would have cost £300 to repair, or £60 to remove it and re-do the plumbing to make it a simple servo-assist system. 4 weeks later he had the MOT due on it and it flew though.
ABS systems aren't hard to repair, but they are expensive depending on what has gone.
