Not all is well in the world of Snoopy!  Angry
Road test revealed a small oil leak that quickly developed into a major oil leak and then more catastrophic  Sad

Something to do with the bolt for the oil feeder pipe to the chain tensioner. There was a leak from that bolt and several attempts to stop the leak made it worse and eventually the bolt broke, which is now stuck and deciding not to come out  Angry

TT will be able to tell you more than me but needless to say, I didn't bring Snoopy home tonight and I'm gutted!  Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry

So fed up I don't even feel like going to the pub tonight - not even to drown my sorrows  Sad

Yep - same bolt sure enough - the oil feed to the chain tensioner and it wasn't gonna stop leaking oil

So nipped it up as tight as I dared and it actually snapped when I tried to remove it.

Funnily enough the manual shows it with no copper washers and that's when the leak was least - with one either side as you'd expect oil poured out.
Problem is that what's left doesn't want to come out easy and its not the most accessible of places so that's a job for tomorrow.

So only semi suicidal here cos I have to try and fix it  Undecided
But for such a mnor thing to cause so much grief is really annoying  not to mention Sadie being mortified at not getting Snoopy back today  Cry Cry Cry

Oh, and I don't own a Vectra and wouldn't be seen dead in one thanks - go figure  Grin

Cheers mate - got a set of easy outs but so far they are making little headway and there aint the space to drill it out

Put the sharp objects away - it's out  Afro

Cleaned up the threads and gasket surfaces but I reckon a new bolt and pipe are needed to be safe.

Seems to me the pipe is twisted so the gasket surfaces don't sit flat and 12 Nm isn't enough to straighten things out.

I will also ask Mitsi for the definitive answer on how many copper gaskets and everything should be sorted Tuesday.
