so do i mate - so do i
there ain't enough space to helicoil it in place so if it doesn't work the head will have to come off again

nothing to see really as seems the damage is quite well up inside the thread
only other option will be a helicoil but there ain't a lot of space
anyway - another 20 minutes and we'll know

Well.... TT came and picked me up this evening to collect me so I could finally reunite Snoopy with his rightful home. No more oil leaks when Tim left his place, but guess what? Yep, when we started him up again - oil dripping from that flippin bolt yet again Not massive, just a little drip, but a leak all the same. Figured it would be ok to get him home as it appeared to be relatively minor, so just keep a close eye on things and see where we were after that. Let's put it this way - don't think the landlord at my local will be too impressed with the dark patch outside his pub in the morning Think I may need to rename Snoopy - ExxonValdez seems the most appropriate at the moment

I swear there was not a leak when I came to pick you up Lost about 2 litres of oil in 20 miles of driving tho half of that was motorway and 1 litre was over my windscreen Problem is that thread is knackered in the head so only the first two or three turns are engaging and oil is leaking by the thread itself One more trick to try beforte helicoiling - PTFE tape

tried that mate and no joy No joy with 'Super Steel' either so tried a tap but there just isn't enough metal for it to cut into - basically it's completely shot So helicoil kit on order and will be here in a couple of days

Absolutely done in and the head's got to come off Helicoil seemed to work but didn't and the leak continues so it's head off again tomorrow and hand it to the experts I'm at my wits end and working next to a wasps nest didn't help any
