Pjaro Pinin (IO) tyre/wheel project
« on: July 10, 2008, 07:13:34 AM »

Hi Guys,

I drive a 2003 SWB pajero Io (australian branding of the Pinin)

I'm currently embarking on fitting 225/75-16 Mickey thompson MTX tyres into the Io.

Im getting the front strut spring bases cut off and re-welded 30mm higher and new shocks fitted to give me the increased lift.
Even though the 225/75-16 will mount on a 6" rim, the pajero rims would have the tyre too close to the front strut so i'm talking with the Compomotive UK Wheels rep here and are looking at getting a set of 7"x16" PD1670 rims with custom offset to suit wider tyres (so not to rub sidewall on strut)

Does anyone comercially make 30mm spacer plates for the rear springs?? I want to keep the springs stock to maintain ride comfort rather than sticking longer stiffer springs in.

has anyone fitted 225/75-16's to their Io/Pinin?

Bob
