the middle pic by the way is with full truck weight on the right front wheel, and you can see there seems plenty of room Afro

to be honest, i really dont know at this stage. reason is, i forgot to park next to nick yesterday on the FWDC laning day, so i could do a comparison in height. i have a feeling that higher springs are already fitted, possibly lwb ones. this because the truck was already higher in the rear arch when i compared it to my 2.8, both having a winter lift and everything else was standard.

the tyres fitted are 33/12.5/16 and are remoulds and they fit no problem as is, which wouldnt have happened on the 2.8.

i may just change the shocks for longer travel, and possibly hd tortion bars for the front

Are you aware that hd torsion bars don't increase or help lift and that they are designed solely to accommodate extra weight on the front as in a very big (as in the 16**** series) winch fitted with lots of steel cable etc.?

Actually that doesn't quite work out in practice

You can wind em up to get loads more lift without sacrificing ride quality

Don't ask me how but that's deffo the result on a car with out a lot of exatra weight on the front.

I tried to gain as much lift as possibl;e before changing the bars to HD and the result was very uncomfrtable and didn't make for good articulation but with the HD bars on we have lift, comfort and articulation so well worth the expense IMO.

i would say that due to the better (heavier) handling characteristics of the HD bars, as tim says, they wind up further without giving harsh ride due to being at the extreme end of their designed operating parameters. it certainly seemed a smoother ride with my 2.8 with the HD bars fitted.
