front struts/shocks

Does anyone know (not guess) whether the front struts are gas or oil filled?

needing to find out before i have the spring bases re-welded as my front struts are sealed, not inserts

Gas struts are oil filled anyway — it's just that the air in 'oil filled' struts has been replaced with gas

So for welding either would be a pain especially if you blew a hole in one Wink

I'm looking into outlander front struts, appear to have same spring diameter but are about 2" longer (spring plate higher)

could be a good swap!
