What does your truck run like on gas? I'm thinking about getting the conversion done and trying to work out if it will be worth it

Have seen them in the boot and underneath the vehicle, although i think they fit a smaller petrol tank on and fit the gas tank in place of the original tank. But i think whereever the gas tank is placed, the savings must be worth it

Mine has the 70 litre gas tank where the petrol tank used to be and then has a 4 gallon petrol tank halfway along the vehicle. The LPG tank hangs down pretty low so I have fitted a modified steel petrol tank guard to protect it. It runs pretty much the same on gas as on petrol but tends to be a little bit lumpy on tickover when on the gas. If you have a conversion done make sure it is a multipoint one and ask them to put Iridium plugs in at the same time as these cope with the higher running temperature better. Dragon, if you ever want to have a look at it give me a shout and I"ll bring it over one evening . Jaz, it will cost about £1600 for the conversion so you will need to keep the car about 2 years or so to get your money back but it's great fun filling up and watching people pay through the nose for petrol/diesel when you are filling up at 56p a litre .

I'm seriously considering doing it. It's well looking into especially if the Government decide to put up the cost of road tax.

Road tax is only £10 cheaper but some insurance companies stick £30 to £40 on the annual premium for the extra risk of LPG.
