Just watched it. I can understand that they thought it would be amusing but as every body here knows it doesn't take much to arm those who wish to see Green laning stopped. I also have registered my complaint.

If someone in the club, lives locally to the lane used, and can prove that the lane/land used was public, then surly, a complaint to the police of that area, of illegal use of a road/motorised vehicle, with a link to the evidence, may have a bit of an effect. If it was all private land, then, a complaint to the BBC, and indeed, a mass complaint from all forums, asking, that on next weeks show, they clarify that it took part on private lane, and you shouldn't assume, you can behave like that on public highways.
Although, in some eyes, damage done to greenlaners.

Pretty sure it will all have been filmed on private land and our complaints will simply be met with the usual meaningless PR twaddle the BBC excel at. I have just re-watched it and a still outraged, especially as we all appear to have credited with murderous tendencies by default now as well. I missed that one first time around. You could say it's similar to the buggy, quad, hovercraft epeisode except they chose to malign green lane enthusiasts so that we would be tarred with whatever brush they presented and it certainly wasn't good for our cause. The typical Top Gear yahoos in the countryside thing but alienating any faction of the motoring public in this fashion simply isn't on and they need to be informed of that in no uncertain terms.

I popped off my thoughts too them earlier... I really used to like Top Gear, but all they seem to do now is mess things up, either they're just not thinking before they say or do something or they're just trying to see just how far they can go, I think JC thinks he's now indispensable and can get away with whatever he wants...

Thought I'd take the time to review the show again before I dashed off a complaint via the BBC website but here's what I said after reviewing ... "Completely derisory to those off-road enthusiasts that enjoy the countryside without causing any damage or inconvenience to other users. if this was done on private land then that should have been made clear along with the fact that style of driving has nothing to do with green laning. Alienated many former fans of the program through a completely irresponsible and factually wrong representation of off-road enthusiasts. Especially references to 'murderous' tendencies. Top Gear's purile sense of humour has been getting steadily worse and it seems they are now stooping to offend fellow motoring groups rather than banding together in the face of negative press and ever pervasive legislation and taxation. I await a broadcast apology from messrs Clarkson and co who frankly should know better." Still very angry tbh

At the risk of totally ostracizing myself i thought i would add my opinion and i am sorry if it contradicts the majority
Top Gear should always be taken with a pinch of salt, the programme is produced for entertainment purposes and it fulfills this roll perfectly, whether it is taking he micky out of caravans, the americans or offroaders and fox hunters. Jezza, hamster and may are a perfect comedy act and the fact that they also include cars is a definate bonus TG is prime time comedy and, with or without this episode, there will always be a few indivuals that have nothing better to do but complain about one thing or another. This, unfortunately, is the case in all walks of life.
This is only my opinion and I, for one, absolutely love the programme

He had no conception about any ones ideaoligy outside of his own, and must have been an embarrassment to the riders following him as he churned up the floral woods. He should stick to the race tracks and skid pans he's used to as he is a menace to the countryside code that off road users and equestrianists care about.

Just for the record Mike, the bit about "individuals having nothing better to do than complain" is aimed at those poor people who make it there greatest ambition in life to write letters of complaint to anybody and everybody about anything and everything. these, i am sure, we have all had the misfortune to have encountered at some point or other and is ,no where near a criticism of any forum members.
I think that my opinion comes from the assumption that Top Gear viewers are graced with enough intelligence to be able to differentiate between the realities of greenlaning and the fictional portrayall from the likes of JC.
I would never assume that my opinions are either right or wrong, they are just MY opinions.
