play in gear stick
« on: July 25, 2008, 11:19:34 AM »

Hi, Not got a jeep yet but am on the look out, I am thinking of going to look at one that seems good but it's quite a journey! They tell me it has some play in the gearstick  ''a bit pudding spoony'' it is described as. Any ideas what this might be before decide to do the journey.I don't want to start on repairs as soon as we get it home! It is   a SWB pajero manual diesel.
                 Thanks URGENT

Yep a small plastic bush either worn or lost at some stage — it wont affect gear changes apart from needing a longer arm — you might be able to get a replacement from mitsi or a piece of nylon tube cut to the right size might suffice
