Well folks as the title says Keri has hurt herself in a rather serious kinda way!!(doesnt do anything by half does my missus!!) early Tuesday evening she decided to try and recreate her own version of the Olympics and do a bit of a high jump, but off our back garden steps....with no soft landing :shock: :shock: She slipped off the top step and landed at the bottom on her bottom..  the end result was a trip to Accident and Emergency for various x-rays etc the outcome is she has a Haematoma the size of a small football that is as hard as hell. a burise covering most of her bottom that is as purple as any bruise i have ever seen and has a job to walk cos of them!!.. (Oh and some dented pride!) On top of everything she decided to faint twice just to shatter my nerves even more!! :cry: :cry:  Yes before you say anything, she wanted me to post the pic P.S. the steps survived ok before you ask!!! :wink: :wink: |

i can see the sea of tranquility  looks seriously nasty, but, in some ways far better the bruising has come out. Mike Bruising has only come out so well due to 24hr iceing, the Docs have told us it'll take months to get proper better..... we got a rally to do in 4 weeks!!!  |

Lordy that's nasty! Not surprised at fainting twice - pretty sure I would have done the same if it were me. Wishing you a speedy recovery Keri and hope it's ok for the rally  |

omg keri that looks really painful,
i can sympathise with you so much as i think a few peeps on here know my partner tanya and know her mum had a fall a couple of years ago on the stairs outside her house .
she now has permanent brain damage and at age 46 her life is now permanently in someone elses hands in a disabled unit .
so you were a really lucky girl

Oh God....that's awful! Yes something so simple as a fall can cause so much damage. I was lucky.....me hobbling about, and not being able to drive, etc. is a small price.

well we wish you a speedy recovery hun it could have been much worse i know but its far from just a bruise that looks so painfull ...try ibuprofen and cocodamol together they will keep the pain off |

Ouch that looks sore but at least you have the right to relax and watch the Olympics. My wife did a similar thing on a Holiday in Cyprus they thought she had ruptured her kidney but thankfully it was just badly bruised. Steps can be dangerous things. Have a swift recovery. |

Thanks everyone....have to say, feel worse today again....as if I've been kicked all over by a donkey! Anyway let it be a lesson to everyone, flip flops and wet steps don't mix!!!!! Think I will be taking a rubber ring on the Landy Rally with me  |
