Plastic wheel cover refurbishing
« on: August 08, 2008, 07:36:00 PM »

Hi all

I have a scratched plastic cover which I want to restore.
What can I use to get rid of deep scratches before repainting?

Before it gets painted, the body shop will apply a coat of primer to provide for an even surface and act as a base. This usually covers up scratches and uneven surfaces. However, if they are too deep, body filler can be used to sort that one out. Hope this helps. Smiley

If your doing it yourself go to Halfords or the likes and ask for plastic bumper repair filler,...iv,e tried ordinary body filler on plastics before and it does,nt adhere properly, but this stuff does the trick.
