Changing brake pads with ABS
« on: August 14, 2008, 04:54:42 PM »

I have to change the front brake pads on the Evo that has ABS and I'm sure this information will be usefulto others

Q. Is there anything I need to worry about that different from changing them on a car without ABS ?   Huh

Thank you

i was told to be on the safe side to clamp the brakelines of and undo the the bleed nipple so that when the piston is pushed back you dont damage anything further up the line cant remember at the mo what damage to what but on other forums it has been mentioned to do this but cant find at the moment  Afro

Hi, Jas is right, if you just push the pistons back any sedemant in the system will be pushed through the abs pump and could lodge under the valves, so clamp the hose and let the fluid out of the bleed nipple,
