Exhaust emissions

Hi there my 2.5td pajero was in for it's mot on Friday it passed ok  Grin but the emissions where high they read

test limit applied 3.00

absorption coefficient  2.32
                                2.29
                                2.43

I'm sure if he had rev ed it right up like there meant to it would have fail it dose smoke alot when under acceleration will this be the diesel pump needing setting up btw the egr value it not connected up
any help pls

If it passed I really wouldn't worry too much as they rev em plenty to test em.

Biggest benefit would be getting your injectors re-furbished but you could try Reddex or similar diesel treatment to clean the system first.

The other 'trick' is a sound thrashing on the way to the MoT station  Wink

and useing veg oil drops it a lot as well
my old mk1 always went through between 0.63 and 0.87 the mk2 last year went thhrough at 1.63 both use veg oil
