i've just been looking on th bay and diesel pumps are going for around £60ish, Shocked how come they a really expensive to have the seals sorted when they go for that cheap on th bay  Undecided

I'd be very suspicious I have to admit

seals themselves are dead cheap but lots of labour involved and they do need setting up with specialist equipment

I got a Cat 'C' SWB 2.5td from a breakers for £195.00 after test starting it at the yard. Engine had 70k on it and ran like a dream. I just swapped them over, timed it up and got the benefits of a pump with half the mileage of my existing one. I then sold the truck for £200.00 in my local rag as a project vehicle with the dicky pump in the boot. I was honest about the sale and was £5.00 in front on the whole deal.
