Hi Folks Fairly happy my 95 SWB has got one of the variants of the winter pack. I have: heated front screen front and rear climate control extra body height twin batteries heated rear drivers side window My question is: How do I turn on the heated rear drivers side window - when I switch on the heated rear screen the side window doesn't appear to come on it stays misted up - whilst the rear clears? How do I turn on the front windscreen heater element below the wiper blades and how do I know if it is working? Short of waiting for some snow/ice, which may not be too long going on the variety of winter weather we've had of late ? Finally how do I know (and switch on - if yes) if I've got heated mirrors? Cheers Keith

Never heard of a heated side window before,so i'm with Jynx on this one Switch on lower left side of dash should be a switch with a wiper picture on it with a heater line through it Heated mirrors should come on with the rear windscreen demister switch i think Hth

Thanks for the replies, so far.
Jynx: I'm pretty sure it is a heater element - its that orangy coloured material and the connection is a single black wire/spade terminal (if I remember right) definitely isn't a standard aeriel co-ax connection, plus I've still got the original Mitsi radio and electric aeriel, as per normal.
Welshtony : - I'll have a look at the switch in the morning - I can picture the one you mean (never used it yet!) - I'll check it out when its light - can always hope it operates the front screen and rear side one.
I'll maybe try and take a photo in the morning.
All other suggestions still greatfully received!
Cheers
Keith

the side window would need it to have 2 wires to make it heated , it could be an after market mobile phone ariel. the mirrors as tony says will heat when you turn the rear window on

The rear drivers window is an aerial for the radio, if you pop the radio out you will see it has 2 aerial plugs going into the back of it...
1 large black one, which comes from the front electric one and a small grey one, which goes to the rear window...
I have a small question for everyone if that's ok, how do you know if a Paj has the extra lift...??

Heated front screen ? Is this right? I thought Ford had the patent on this, thats why no-one else uses the technology. Especially since yours is a '95 model.
Also
I'm guessing here but.....
if you look under the rear wheel arch, there is a mounting point for the body,
I'm no expert but there is either going to be a 1.5" spacer block to give the lift or, the actual chassis mount will be manufactured 1.5" higher than a standard Pajero.
The easiest way is to see how much room there is under the arch ! If there is loads of room then you have the lift !

the heated front screen on a paj if fitted( was an otional extra ) is only for where the wind screen wipers sit
to tell if your paj is lifted look under the rear wheel arch and look at ,if the body sits directly onto the chassis if not and it has a block between measure the gap and thats how much its lifted, if you have a winter pack on it then its normally lifted but the amount differs

Thanks all, I've now found the front windscreen heater switch. I now also believe that the side window element is probably an extra aerial. And I don't think the underside of my PJ was ever as clean as Johnag's - Needs a good coating of mud to stop the old tin worms burrowing into the metal in my opinion ! Keith

Very Wrong Tim, that has winter pack lift These are standard: Note the body bracket is right on the chassis Showing the body mount on the right behind the tyre — note the lack of a spacer of any type These are a factory lift (commonly known as a winter pack) This is around about a 2" lift and the body bracket is that far above the chassis If you compare the body mount on this one (the winter pack) with the standard you will see that this mount is welded over the top of the chassis whilst the standard above is welded to the side of the chassis
