Signature Banners
« on: August 22, 2006, 10:29:23 PM »

Fancy a fancy signature banner under your every post?

Here's a couple of sites that can help you create ...
http://www.flamingtext.co.uk/net-fu/forms/banner.html
http://www.glittermaker.com/
http://www.banner-generator.net/en/bannergen.php?genaction=3&bsize=3&pid=1

Size wise, aim for 400 x 110, 468 x 60 or thereabouts and download the results to your computer for now.

Now for the techy bit ...

Sig banners need to be hosted on another web site such a Photobucket, Imagevent etc, (or your personal webspace via FTP).
This means you can 'call' them by a url or web address that starts http and ends with the file extension (jpg or gif).

Go to your profile and select 'forum profile information'
Scroll down to the signature box, enter the url for your picture there.
Insert [ img ] in front of the url and [ /img ] after the url (with no spaces inside or outside the square brackets).
Then click 'Change Profile' and take a look at your posts.

Have fun  Wink

Please bear in mind that moving sig banners can be a distraction and may be removed by admin.

Guidelines...

Small animated pics are OK but its best if they only move once
(which can be set in the loop value if making them yourself).

Do not include the 'move' tags in the signature box in your profile.

If in doubt, please ask us.   Wink

Read the top post here very carefully.

A couple of those sites can make em for you (but they are text effects only) or you can make em up in Photoshop, Paintshop Pro, or even MS Paint.

If you sort out a picture and font you want to use - I can probably sort something for you  Wink
