We all know about the need for regular exercise to keep us fit? - yeah right  Well its the same with your car - some bits need a bit of regular exercise to keep em sweet. New owners take note... 1. Aircon Give it a run once a month even in the winter (its the best demister anyway) to keep the compressor oil seals tight and prevent leaks. 2. Superselect System The 4WD selector and mechanism can get tempremental if not used for a while. Make a habit of using normal 4WD in the wet and try 4HLC and 4LLC once a month (only in a straight line if on tarmac). Attention to these should help prevent expensive problems. |

good points tim. i do both on a regular basis. in fact, tis a good idea to make sure you use everything from time to time, this includes fog lights etc. otherwise the first time you realise sommat aint working, tis the time you need it.
for those with one, nows the time to check out the rear heater too. odds are for most, its not been used since last winter and if you have been off roading, you may have damaged the pipes etc. if it makes an odd clicking sound, take the cover off, its most likely sommat has got in thru the grills and is flicking against the rotors of the fan. a quick hoover out will soon sort that.

@ Eddie Its OK as long as wheels stay in a straight line - no turning and only a short distance Wet tarmac is better than dry and mud or gravel is far better |

if you are on gravel in LLC with your window open you can hear the tyres scrubbing you know its working then.

What a cool idea joker! Come on lads lets head to the posh side of town and test our 4wd systems on other people's gravel driveways! choo! choo!
Good advice though...cos things can get siezed if not used, and saves taking apart hubs etc!
