Steering Damper
« on: December 08, 2006, 06:13:47 PM »

I've now got my steering damper fitted and I thought I'd let you guys in on my thoughts...

Overall much less steering judder, especially on rough tracks. So smooth in fact that I'd even risk putting my thumbs through the steering wheel ( Shocked - No, thats not a good thing to do, but you get the idea!). There is a pothole in my road and before I had the damper, if I hit it, the steering wheel used to jerk and you could really feel it. Now, you cant feel it throught the steering, just your butt  Wink

Supposedly It cuts down on steering wear and tear, but I can't really comment on that but I can understand how it would help.

Bad points: None really. The guy that fitted it said it was bugger, but nothing is easy these days is it? Overall though, I'm impressed  Roll Eyes

Cheers

Nick
p.s. Oh and they are available in the club shop  Wink

Just have to fix on 2 brackets and the dampener fits between these

I will sort some pics on Tuesday  Wink

Yeah, two U brackets - one bolts to the Axle and one to the steering rod with the damper in between. Not sure why it was a bugger to fit, but Tim'll find out on Tuesday  Wink
