Not such a good day for Luc Alphand but there's a long way to go yet

paj's will start to come into there own as they head into the sand

That stage WAS sand - loads of it and really soft too - far from the easy first stage that people were expecting 

(in fact a couple of the trucks were completely trashed by it later in the day)

But they needed to save fuel (not an Evos strong point) 

And Alphand got a puncture early on.


Loads of drivers, Alphand included were not happy about the crowds of spectators that close to them which is probably why the ex WRC drivers did so well.


At 1/2 way on the special stage today - watch out the Evos are a comin !

Didn't do so good yesterday cos of electrical problems - currently 16th 


X5s will be breaking their rear wishbones soon on the stony stuff

THE MITSUBISHIS STRIKE. Nani Roma and Stephane Peterhansel both complete the stage approximatley 30 seconds slower than Sainz and that should move both into the top five overall.

13:01   PROBLEMS FOR ARI VATANEN. His Volkswagen has stopped 17km from the end of the stage. He was crossing a stream at the time. Possibly a flooded engine?
