Evo Insurance
« on: January 18, 2007, 07:49:27 PM »

What's it gonna cost to insure your Evo then ?

46 years old, no accidents or convictions, living in Surrey, Thatcham 1 alarm, 9 years NCB protected for life with £250 excess on £9K car value, fully comp

Prices just for insurance (via Confused .com) range from £388 to £825 though the cheapest have a £650 excess  Roll Eyes

Favourites so far with decent quality policies and including recovery cover.

Lifesure @ £508

Adrian Flux @ £462

2Gether FS @ £442  Cool

Adrian flux all the way ...

Im using Lifesure at the moment with the Pajero, but if I had an Evo it'd be Adrian Flux.   The reason I say that is that Flux will insure any modification on a like by like basis - so if you stick on an induction system costing I dunno ... 250 and have a ding that causes damage to it they replace the induction system - no quibbles.  Most companies would give you a standard airbox ...

My yaris is with Flux at the moment (and has been for the last four years) - its got more value in its mods than the car itself and the BHP is roughly 50% higher than standard and when you declare things like the sports cat or coilovers they actually know what you're talking about.

Additionally their breakdown cover - Flux Rescue is top notch too.  Wifes MR2 rad died last summer - most people would just whack radweld in and leave you to it - they went and got a special trailor and took it to our drive without any hassle (most places would have torn the front bib off in the process).

If I do much more with my paj Ill be going to Adrian Flux

Im thinking that you HAVE to go for an HKS Induction System, a sports cat and a dastek Unichip!

- Id have thought you could hit 400bhp without too much effort at all

Dastek are around about 550 fitted inlcuding the full remap etc ... but my paj is too old to have one fitted ... ho hum.  When I asked about it they said that the best thing to do would be to wind the fuel pump up keeping an eye on the exhaust gas temp ...

How do you work an induction system with a snorkel?  Just attach the snorkel to the inlet?

I think I might need a sports cat for mine soon...
