Flooding
« on: January 26, 2007, 11:02:19 AM »

The river Severn is waay up around Gloucester/Tewkesbury at the moment. The local flooding is extending about 1/2 mile across the fields and roads from the river bank in places. The height markers on the side of one or two of the roads have been showing 4ft in places.

I went fording down there the other week to get the underside cleaned up, but I've no snorkel and I wouldn't risk getting stuck at the moment  Shocked

Some woman had a skinfull in a pub there the other week and decided to walk along a mile long stretch of flooded road back home through it - they found her body a couple of miles upstream a few days later Shocked

I have to drive across the river twice a day to take my eldest to college but its a 70 mile round trip so I don't take the pajero, shame really cos you don't get to go fording very often.
