You only need to replace the shagged one but chances are that both are U/S
I assume yours is a diesel, hence two, you need two for the starting amps to turn the beast over when cold.
Dont know where you are based but I wouldnt expect to pay more than £60 each unless you go for DEEP CYCLE batteries which are rated at a higher amp hour.. I recently replaced both mine for £50 each +vat. Grin

If you've got access to a Costco store you can get Bosch Asia Silvers for £42 inc vat each, these are supposed to be for Imported vehicles.
What's so special about them I've no idea, but a pair of batts for less then £85 can't be bad. Wink

Hello mate, just put 2 new batteries on my swb 2.5 at a cost of £60 + vat for the pair.
my mate is a mech and these are from the local motor factor here in Hertford. Done the same for my lwb about 2 months ago.

Shouldnt be more than a ton for the pair but someone must know somewhere cheaper !

Pajeros have 2 to start a diesel in extreme cold.

They are wired together as one large battery and you can even charge em together on positive of front battery and negative on rear battery.

If one has had it - the other will be knackered too.

Kwik Fit sell Exide batteries with 4 year no quibble warranty - (so batteries for life basically)  Wink

Just looking around the forum saw this... Car batteries were cheap when I saw them in Makro if you got one near you.
When I needed one for my motor I paid 33.95 +vat for the same that everyone was asking £60. for!
Hope that helps as an idea to you and anyone else.
