I'm not quite sure if this should be here or in the technical bit. But we have this shiny new section so it'd be a shame not to use it My Pinin aerial doesn't retract. Is it supposed to? If it is supposed to, how difficult a job is it to replace it. I'm thinking something a little more exciting than the standard one, but I'm shockingly bad a car DIY so if it's in anyway complicated I'll be really happy to leave it alone

well i tried to replace the mast on mine that had snapped and wot a nightmare to get it back together i will now have to get a replacement ariel as its screwed. and to replace you would have thought that the ariel lead to the mast would be easily disconnected from the mast its self like most ariels but oooohhh noooo not on the mitsy you have to pull all the coax out from behind the dash too so if your thinking of sorting an ariel out be aware that its guna take quite a while cos its a pain

Ah, no.
The Pinin aerial is roof mounted (top of the O/S A pillar) and isn't electrical.

Had to laugh at this post! Sorry I don't look on this board very often so a bit of a delayed response ... Just discovered after 6 months of owning the car and moaning about the radio reception quality, that the one foot long aerial actually pulls out to normal aerial length! Whenever I'd tried to move it before it seemed stuck so I assumed that's all it did. Just been washing the car and made this wonderful discovery. Ever felt really stupid ... ?( well I am blonde!) Thank God I didn't ask them at the garage to fix it for me ...
