Had ocassion to talk to Phil today regarding some parts I needed. What a top bloke. I just mentioned the club, he took my parts list, gave me a price (which was damned good for what I wanted) and he gave me a price including P&P. THEN, he said he'd send me the stuff and could I please pop a cheque in the post when it was convenient for me!

Damn my ears, he was sending me the stuff BEFORE I'd paid for it.

That is service for you.

From now on, Phil gets my first call for second hand spares and repairs.  Afro

Well, the bits turned up yesterday and got fitted as soon as. I now have proper working headlights that flash whenever you pop the stalk, so my 'A' bar spots  now work too. And, my mirrors work like they are supposed to as well. BARGAIN!

All thanks to Phil and his first class service.

Thanks for the recommendation to use him Carl.  Afro

Been back on to Phil today to do more business with the man and I cannot stress how helpful this chap is.

If ya need a part, give him a bell if a second hand one will do as he is an absolute pearl of a guy and his service is second to none.

Unfortunately I cannot recomend this guy so far. I purchased a 2.8 engine and rad for an automatic Pajero. 2 weeks later they arrived and the pallet had collapsed resulting in a damaged rad. Phil was notified and told me he had to check with the carrier. In the meantime I told him he had sent me an engine and rad for a manual car and not auto so the rad needed to have an oil cooler and the fuel pump correct bracketry for the kickdown cable.

5 weeks later I am still waiting! I have been told it was sent parcelforce twice and he would check tracking and come back to me. Yet again Nothing!

Now when I ring. He isn't there! Someone else called Tom answers the phone and when I ask for a return call I get well I dont know when that will be as I dont know when I'll see him next!

Now I've spent over £1000 for the engine and Rad and I still cant run it up. I have the distinct impression this guy really wants your money and doesn't care about anything else (sorry not normally like this but I feel people need to appreciate this is extremely poor service). I have now offered to drive a 300 mile round trip to get my missing pieces to which I still dont have an answer!

I am typing this as I used this man on the recomendation of this forum and dont want other people to get caught out the same way!

Here's a copy of my last email sent today

Quote
Phil

I have been ringing daily for an update on the radiator and bracket you told me you had posted by parcelforce on11/7/08 and 04/07/08.

To date nothing has been received and no return phone call from you to advise where this radiator is.

It is now over four weeks since you delivered the 2.8 engine and damaged radiator to me, which was for a manual car and not automatic as I requested. The delivery note was signed unchecked as pallet had collapsed and your staff advised due to you being on holiday in Turkey when it finally arrived.

Will you please let me know when I can expect to receive these replacement items or would you prefer I drive from Dover on Tuesday to collect?

I think you will agree I have been extremely patient in this matter and I now to get this vehicle finished as it is costing me £20 / week storage whilst waiting for these replacement parts.

The courtesy of a phone call or email would be appreciated

Regards

Ray
Deal

Is there anyone in the locality of this man that could pop in and find out what's going on for me? I'll cover fuel

cheers

Most unusual from what I have heard of him.

We ordered a replacement cylinder head and it was sent parcelforce the same day - good price too I thought
