That be 11 now my 'ansome's Cheesy

W reg 2000 in a graphite grey sort of colour. Just had the cambelt done.

Tricky question time... my eco light never comes on...ever. Should it at least illuminate when the ignition switch is turned to on to show the bulb works?

When u 1st turn the key it should turn on 4 at least 5 sec. then it should only come on if u drive like a mad man, and will be using less than sumet like 10mpg.

To replace the bulb it you will need 2 unscreew (possy drive) about 5 screews, and the rest is plasti clips, then when removing the dash, 3sets of wires need uncliping, dont b frightened, they will not afect the car, if needed, the little screews come out of the electronic bit.

Any more help and I can show u with piks at weekend.Jamie

Hmm... thats different to my understaning of it Jamie.

The book says it only comes on when driving economically - and I'm trying to discover why the car is so thirsty. (24ish MPG) mixed driving off road and town use.

I have also seen comments elsewhere about the eco light being somewhat annoying, I'm thinking maybe someone has removed the bulb.

Mine comes on when I ease off the throttle and drive like a Saint. When I first got the car it didn't work, but as it was under warranty Mitsu fixed it.
Try resetting the MPG before a long gentle run. You might be quite surprised at the result.

..and another one

2003 SWB pajero Io, or Pinin in the UK. bought with 93,000kms (57,000ml) on the clock.
It's damn like new!! The Io is really really rare down here - lower fuel prices mean that people are more likely to buy the bigger normal sized pajero with the 3.5V6 instead of the Toy sized Io.

We also have too much sulphur ppm for the GDI engine to work properly so we are stuck with the 2.0L SOHC version of the 4G94 motor. At least the Lancer boys have TONNES of hot up parts for them, cold air intakes, bigger plenums, throttle bodies, stage 1 cams up to full competition turbo kits!!

I'm (trying) to purchase an actual manufactured & moulded snorkel for the Pinin out of Brazil - the Pinin is called the TR4 down there and there's HEAPS of stuff for it!!

anyway anyone else from Australia?

as per: http://www.ciashop.com.br/garra4x4/product.asp?template_id=1&partner_id=&dept_id=1601&pf_id=SK035

PLEASE if you are going to contact this company realise that they DO NOT ship outside Brazil due to customs issues - not their fault - please don't act like a tool etc like someone already has with the owner of "Tas" the Pinin. It took a lot of coaxing to find out which model ARB difflock fits into a pinin.

2000 Pinin 1.8 GDI 3dr Auto. Quite Splendid

Re: Pinin owener, number count
« Reply #71 on: August 23, 2008, 04:23:35 PM »

Here's another. Think that makes me number 13 or 12A as I'd prefer.

2000 1.8 GDI 3dr Auto Met green over Silver, Had it a year now as I lost last car in floods, was the best thing in my price group
Finding it a great little car. Averaging 30-33 my eco light not working either. Maybe the term use it or lose it can be applied here.

Had problem with back door lever not opening door, Thought this was going to be a major headache, found inside door card is on those poppers and the return spring and lever corroded. Lubed up now ok. Must be from all the spray that gets sucked up onto the back of the car in the wet.
looking to change cam belt soon found this on the net after a long search, apologies if it's on the site already as I'm not sure where i found it   http://www.mivec.co.nz/tech/4G9x_Engine_Manual.pdf  Think the 1.8 engine is 4g93 and the 2.0L is 4g94.
Again you probably all know this already. Smiley

I've not reset my computer since New Year. So far over about 9,500 miles she's managed 35.7mpg at an average of 27mph. I'm quite happy with that Smiley

My GDi light hasn't worked in ages (although it used to). Seems to be a common problem?

Hi,
this post is probably to old now, but I like to be added to the Pinin Count, as I have a lovely blue and silver 1.8 pinin vivo and I personally think it is a fantastic car.
Anyway hello to the other Pinin owners.
