The Lake District
« on: March 15, 2007, 09:26:08 PM »

If you fancy the Lake District it has to be the Quiet Site at Watermillock near Ullswater/Penrith,only 5 miles from J40 on the M6.It`s very kid friendly and the bar which is a converted barn just has to be seen. It`s a family run site and booking is recommended........http://www.thequietsite.co.uk/

If you don't mind the rough and ready approach, Hawkshead Hall Farm just to the north of Hawkshead is fine.

Easy walking distance to the village for a beer (even for a lardarse like me Cheesy). It is basic (cold water and freezing toilets) but it's very cheap and no booking is needed (or even possible).
