Which browser.
« on: April 21, 2007, 08:42:56 PM »

Getting my new PC this week, thank god, this things driving me nuts.  Roll Eyes

Anyway in a bid to keep as much crud off it as possible I've decided I'm going to be a bit selective as to what I use it for. (No more porn sites then Grin Grin)
When it comes to browsers I've decided I definately ain't going to be using IE7 or any other IE for that matter. Which narrows the choice to a few well known favourites.
Firefox... has quite a lot of rubbish creeping into it. Found that out with a Spybot scan.  Angry
So does anyone have any experience with Opera, Safari or Netscape? These seem quite popular.  Huh

Yes. You're right about Safari. Mac only. So that's one discounted.  Smiley I found out that Netscape was taken over by AOL, so that's another out the window. Think I'll give Opera a little try for a couple of days. But Firefox is looking favourite at the moment. Looks like I'll have to find a good spyware blocker.  Grin

Although my scans find things that have got thru Firefox, they are all targetted at IE and so not a problem.  Wink

You do know that Opera is a non-free browser - you either pay for it or get adverts slowing it down

Netscape on-line has been taken over by AOL, the browser and browser development itself has not been. But Firefox surpasses it Wink
