if your serious about articulation and like the video then look at their site at www.x-eng.co.uk
when using dislocation cones etc there normaly isnt much force over the wheel thats extended but the inner spring adds extra pressure to keep the wheel pushing on the ground .
great idea ey.

Indeed I did ask and this was the reply:

In response to your question:
"Do you ever intend making your parts to fit Mitsubushi Shogun or Pajero ie X spring or X flex"

It is our longer term objective to expand in to other 4x4's.  We have an X-Brake for Suzuki as a first step and have a design on the board for Toyota and Jeep.

X-Springs would be possible for just about any 4x4, however, the tooling for the press which makes the top hats is expensive so we need to go with the biggest markets first.  Funds permitting, it is our intention to cover most 4x4's in due course.

The same applies to the X-Flex joints.  Although they bolt directly to a Land Rover, we will produce an adaptor plate which will allow them to be bolted to just about anything allowing third parties to use them wherever they choose.  We see Jeep in the US being the biggest potential market, but there is no reason they could not be used on Shoguns as well.

Kind regards - and thanks for the order,

Si

On the plus side, they do make some good roof lights   Wink  Grin

I think there's a lot of suppliers not switched on to how cheap Pajeros are now and how many are off-roading in them  Wink

I've always wondered how vehciles with dislocating suspension handle on the road, do they have disconnects or something to kee pthe axle under control when you don't want too much articulation? Or are they not necessary?

My Jeep XJ has disconnects on the front anti-roll bar(I took the rear bar off) which makes a huge difference to articulation. But with the discos disconnected the handling is bloody scary on the road.

Hello guys,

Just thought I'd add something to the post....

I contacted x-engineering over Christmas regarding their x-eng dislocation spring system as I'd hoped they might consider reworking it to suit Pajero/Shoguns. As you can see from the response this seems unlikely..however, if we can drum up enough interest from within the forum they may reconsider.

Response from x-eng below:

Dear Terry,

I'm afraid it's unlikely that we will be producing these any time
soon.  We have produced one or two items for Toyota and Suzuki, but
to be honest, the sales volumes were very small compared to Land
Rover.  We dropped the Toyota product last year and are considering
the future of Suzuki.

However, the next time we see a Shogun at the workshop, I'll have a
look and see if it would be a big job to produce a kit.  If not, and
we can put something together I'll drop you a line.

Kind regards,

Si
