my shogun doesn't have a compass so i bought one and stuck it on top of the 3'pods', altemeter etc.

how do i get it to show the right directions? It only cost £7 but even so I dont expect to end up in edinburgh when heading for southampton  Sad

I have no idea why but I'd guess the special blue bulb has gone - Ebay or Mitsu dealer  Wink

Probably just due to age (especially in cold weather when yo've always got lights on etc) but could be your charging system.

Get a digital multimeter and check voltage across both batteries (pos on one and neg on the other).

A - with car standing

B - with car running and lights on

Less than 13 volts is not enough and if same when car is running it could be the alternator gone.

I thought it was the caps on the back of the compass that caused it to stop working

If the display has gone blank or intermittently flashes on and off, try replacing all the caps on the back and middle board guys, a second hand one will properly go the same way anyway  Roll Eyes  There's a group of 6 (1uF 50V) caps on the middle board that went pear-shaped in mine  Sad
