I can vouch for the addiction thing Toolman! I kept my pride n joy all shiny and clean til I met this lot! I was very nervous about taking it offroad too but Nick and Tim persuaded me to give it a go with their expert guide and assistance and there's absolutely no stopping me now  There are very few mods to my truck and I did some really challenging stuff on just standard road tyres with no lift and never got stuck - even when the 'expert' in a modded truck did (eh Carl?) 

Don't pay for an offroad course - I nearly did and I know now I would've regretted it having met some great people here. Come along to a day with us and do some light lanes - guarantee you'll love it 

If not this Sunday, how about the Surrey mini-meet next Saturday (26th)? We could manage a couple of light lanes to show you the ropes and Tim is an excellent instructor - but be warned, he takes some shutting up once he starts, lol!

The only real difference is that the courses tend to throw you into steeper terrain earlier to get your confidence up sooner

We dont have access to that sort of terrain so it tends to be gentler to start with

Certainly does! Gentle didn't last much longer than first time out and the craving for more challenging stuff gets steadily worse

it certainly does  i started out a year ago at kirton off road centre pay&play day i was the same as you very nervous wasn't sure wether i was gonna damage my truck once i got there that went out of the window just got stuck in if there was anything i wasn't sure about driving through then i watched someone else do it first then decided wether to do it or not the experience comes with confidence in your ability and truck hence to say i got a swb just for off roading and went back the month after to tackle some of the stuff i couldn't do in a lwb now i just go for anything the rougher and harder the better and the harder it is the more determined i get to do it and nothing has beat me so far but like the other's say when you do it once your hooked and want more it's one seriuos addiction but fun.

Agree there shoggy - confidence in the abilities of the truck makes an amazing difference. I had no idea what these things are capable of, especially just in standard trim with road tyres. But it went everywhere, and up and down everything I pointed it at, with little or no drama at all 

Even just with mud tyres now I have so much faith in my Paj and it still continues to amaze me

don't worry mate your in my group for derbyshire but i won't be doing anything that will risk damaging anyone else's truck.
