my hobbies
« on: August 23, 2007, 09:26:17 PM »

i for my sins ,  i buy, play on and restore Raleigh Grifters , i partake in the Raleigh Grifter forum on the net , i currently own seven complete bikes , im doing a custom at the moment as well as a slow paced rebuild .

I never owned one as a kid as we wernt that rich so i thought last year at the age of 36 i would buy one and i then googled the word grifter and found the forum , im not sure wether its a poor attempt to regain my childhood or just me being a sad bloke .

I dont care which one , i think they are a great bike that attracts a lot of attention from young kids who are amazed when they hear that the bike im riding is 30 odd years old , Raleigh just wont ever build a bike like that again  Afro

I had a Grifter, it was great.  All my friends had BMX's, so it was much better for day to day, but a bit heavy for jumping off ramps. Although it still managed a few  Evil

You could get plenty of speed for hitting the ramps, but it was a dam heavy bike, came down with quite some force
