V6 Air Inlet Valve
This cures the slow tickover problem on the 3.0 and 3.5 V6 engines

First purchase a tin of good quality carb cleaner

Then remove the airbox lid and flexi pipe

Then remove the plugs either side of the air intake throttle body

Then remove the two water pipes from either side of the throttle body

and here

Then remove the 6 bolts holding the throttle body to the plenum chamber

the top two

the left hand side bottom two again centre of photo

The throttle body can then be removed from the plenum chamber, making sure that the thin metal gasket is retained

Unfortunately I have no photos of the next part sorry.

But what you will find is that inside the throttle body behind the butterfly valve will be coked up with a thick oily substance, this will be restricting the air flow whilst the valve is in its tickover position (ever so slightly open).

This will need cleaning thoroughly with the carb cleaner and a soft cloth or tissues, then move on to the mouth of the plenum chamber (the bit that the throttle body is bolted to) you will find that this is also coked up, clean this with the carb cleaner and cloth also but pay attention to the small hole one the inside to the left of the opening try not to get carb cleaner into this as it could damage the rubber pipe attached to it.

Once this is all clean you should have restored your tickover back to normal.

Assembly is just a reversal of the dis-assembly process.

Any problems just ask.
